As part of the Erasmus+ 3D Academy project, and taking advantage of the synergies developed during the Green Detectives mobility, students participated in an innovative hands-on workshop combining 3D printing, logical thinking, spatial intelligence, and problem-solving skills.

During the activity, students explored the fascinating world of Burr Puzzles, traditional three-dimensional mechanical puzzles made of interlocking pieces that must be carefully assembled and disassembled.
Using 3D printing technology, students produced their own puzzle pieces, discovering how digital manufacturing can transform geometric designs into physical objects for educational purposes.
Once the puzzles were printed, students participated in a practical workshop where they learned different strategies to solve them, developing essential cognitive abilities such as spatial visualization, logical reasoning, concentration, patience, and three-dimensional thinking.

The activity was particularly relevant to the objectives of 3D Academy, which promotes the acquisition of advanced skills in 3D modelling, digital manufacturing, and innovative learning methodologies.
At the same time, the workshop strengthened the synergy with the Green Detectives project, encouraging students to reflect on sustainable manufacturing, responsible material consumption, and the possibility of creating durable, reusable educational resources through 3D printing.
By combining digital fabrication with traditional mechanical puzzles, students discovered how 3D technologies can support both technological education and cognitive development while promoting creativity, teamwork, and environmental awareness.

This collaborative experience demonstrated how Erasmus+ projects can complement each other, connecting technological innovation, sustainable practices, and the development of essential learning skills.
An inspiring example of how 3D printing can challenge our minds, improve spatial intelligence, and encourage creative thinking while contributing to a more innovative and sustainable educational future!
