Practical Applications of 3D Printing Workshop Held at VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava במסגרת Erasmus+ Project “3D Academy”

Ostrava, February 19, 2026 — A workshop focused on the practical applications of 3D printing was held at the 3D Protolab of VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava as part of the Erasmus+ project “3D Academy.” The session aimed to showcase how additive manufacturing is transforming various industries through innovative and real-world solutions.

The workshop brought together international students, including participants from Spain representing IES Playamar, from Poland representing ZST Center, and from the Czech Republic representing Mendelova Secondary School. The multicultural environment encouraged collaboration and the exchange of ideas among participants.

During the session, attendees explored how 3D printing is applied across different fields such as medicine, engineering, and sports. In the medical field, examples included the production of prosthetics, implants, and anatomical models for surgical planning. In engineering, participants learned how 3D printing is used for rapid prototyping, product development, and manufacturing optimization.

The workshop also highlighted the role of 3D printing in sports, where customized equipment, lightweight components, and performance-enhancing designs are increasingly being developed using additive manufacturing technologies.
